The Ministry of Justice aims to address internet-related crimes involving intellectual property infringement. In Brazil, 22 search and seizure warrants were carried out, leading to the closure of illegal IPTV sites and removal of infringing content from search engines and social media platforms.

Brazilian authorities found a target in Cuiabá, Brazil, that served as a hacking network for around 60,000 users. This site has been shut down, and the computers and hard drives found there will be analyzed for further investigation.

Alejandro Musso, a cybercrime supervisor in Buenos Aires, emphasized the significance of the operation, pointing out that digital piracy is a serious offense with wide-reaching effects. In Brasilia, he underscored the necessity of taking legal measures to combat this crime and warned about its substantial costs.

Operation 404 has effectively combated piracy.

Operation 404 is named after the HTTP response code that signifies a page is not found or unavailable online, specifically the well-known 404 error. Launched in 2019, the operation executed 30 search and seizure warrants, shutting down 210 websites and 100 unauthorized streaming and IPTV apps in its initial stage.

In March of this year, 11 individuals were detained during the fifth phase. Additionally, 199 illicit streaming sites and games were taken down, along with the blocking of 128 domains and six messaging applications. These channels, which had over four thousand followers, were utilized for sharing unreleased music.
