One Piece is set to receive a remake for its anime. The news of the anime remake was revealed during the second day of Jump Festa 2024, a yearly event in Japan showcasing anime and manga, sponsored by Shueisha, the largest publisher in the country known for releasing Eiichiro Oda’s work.
Netflix states that the new version of One Piece will have a distinct approach from the long-running anime series that has captivated audiences for over 25 years. The streaming giant reveals that WIT Studio, known for hit series like Attack on Titan and Spy × Family, will be creating “One Piece: The One Piece Series.”

A new animation called THE ONE PIECE will retell the story of the One Piece manga, beginning with the East Blue saga, and it is produced by WIT Studio, known for SPY X FAMILY and Attack on Titan, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of One Piece.
Toei Animation’s ongoing original One Piece animation, which has surpassed 1000 episodes and marked its 25th anniversary in July 2022, collaborated with Netflix and WIT Studio in February 2021 to back the WIT Animator Academy, a six-month coaching program by WIT Studio and the Sasayuri animation school.
