Google Photos is introducing a new feature that organizes similar photos together in the app’s image feed.

Google Photos now lets you group similar photos in the feed.

In the “Pixel8phones” subreddit, a user named “alexandriaofwar” shared a screenshot demonstrating how the “Photo Stack” feature in Google Photos aids in maintaining a tidy photo library by grouping similar images together.

Google Photos Photo Stack feature organizes similar images into groups and displays a single thumbnail in the app’s image feed. Details about this feature are limited, but it is assumed to choose the best image for display while enabling the deletion of others.

It is still unclear whether there is a limit to the number of similar images that can be grouped together, as only one example with five images is shown in the Reddit screenshot.

Introduction and accessibility

Google is launching the Photo Stack feature on Google Pixel phones, but it is unclear when it will be accessible on devices from other brands.
